GaiaWorld is full steam ahead with the debut of its game chain

Unlike other public blockchains, GaiaWorld game chain requires even faster transaction speed as it aims at an ecosystem dedicated to game applications. It’s no secret that Bitcoin and Ethereum, the two most sought-after blockchain platforms, are reaping a plenty of criticism about their sluggish performance. As to the speed issue, Head of technology at GaiaWorld pointed out that:

Speed is the pain in the neck for the whole blockchain industry, and we should all work on it. That said, speed is not something absolute. We don’t need to make it as fast as a centralized platform. It’s not a competition. GaiaWorld wishes to build a system that supports mega games like effortlessly. That’s why we keep making great efforts to accelerate both transaction and operation. The exciting news is our CPoS (GaiaWorld’s unique competition-based Proof-of-Stake algorithm) has hit 4000tps in the test and shown great potential for growth. It’s an accepted fact that “those who cracks the DApp bottleneck wins the next decade”. We would all agree that it is apps not the android system that have changed our lives; and it’s the same story in the world of blockchain. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen anything out there that is good enough to support all DApps running on a blockchain, and it would be no more than an immature prototype if there is one. This is because the underlying technology necessary for high concurrency applications, like MMOs, still needs reinforcement.
